About the event

Business Agility Europe - Community online events

An agile organisation generally means agility in an organisation’s culture, leadership, strategy, and governance that adds value to all stakeholders operating in uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environments. Agility refers to the characteristics of an organisation that enable organisations to respond quickly to changes in both the internal and external environments without losing their core business. The core and key characteristics of business agility are adaptability, flexibility, and balance.

In this session we focus to talk and open up what does Business Agility actually means and why business agility practicies have become more and more important to all organisations.

Session topic: It is crucial to have more organisational agility! Why and how – lessons learned?

Speaker: Peter Coesmans, Agility Officer, Agile Business Consortium

Who is Peter?

Peter Coesmans currently is the Chief Agility Officer of the Agile Business Consortium. As a programme manager for sustainable improvements, he has been working in High Tech, Food, Energy, Government, Education and other areas, leading organisations to improve their primary processes by supporting their talented people. Over the last years his focus has been on sustainability. Peter has been involved in agility long before the manifesto was developed and is a leading speaker worldwide. Based on his experience, Peter was lead author for IPMA’s programme management standard (ICB4), author of ABC’s agile portfolio management, and he is long time judge and lead assessor for the IPMA awards. While seeing benefits in standards and methods, he is strongly people and culture oriented. And he plays bass guitar.
